new facility. To celebrate we will be having an Open House and everyone is welcome

Dawn Over Zero - TRCoA's Unsigned Artist Competition 2008 Winner

The crowd at Antone's saw a great show by four of Austin's most
exciting artists at TRCoA's Unsigned Artist Competition 2008.
Dawn Over Zero,
Grenadier,
Ashmore, and
Squint
all played great sets making the final voting a difficult decision.
Once the judges ballots were counted, Dawn Over Zero won
the competition and the prize of a 10 song CD produced, recorded,
mixed and mastered at
Stinson Recording Studios. Thanks to all the bands
and fans who participated in this event to make it a huge success.
See you at next year's competition, we are looking forward to it.
AMF Small Group Session: Pro Tools for Musicians and Songwriters

Gina Fant-Saez for Pro Tools for Musicians and Songwriters to be held at
The Recording Conservatory of Austin on Wednesday July 30th. Small Group Sessions allow groups of 20-30 participants to meet
face to face with industry professionals in a classroom setting for expert instruction on a chosen topic. Visit

Who's In the Studio
Conspirare: The Verdi Requiem
"A singularly majestic moment" are the words that conclude the Austin American-Statesman review of
Conspirare's
performance of the Verdi Requiem in the Long Center June 21st. Not only was a capacity audience treated to this magnificent concert,
but it was broadcast live on
KMFA-FM and streamed world-wide on the radio station's website. John Stinson, founder of
TRCoA and
Stinson Studios, recorded the event and provide the audio used in KMFA-FM's audio broadcast.
Gina Johnson with Craig Franklin
Gina Johnson, an Advanced Music Production student, has been in the studio working with
Craig Franklin.
An Austin, TX based songwriter, Craig grew up in Collinsville, IL, about 20 miles east of St. Louis, MO.
His biggest influence in music early on came from what his family was listening to. This ranged from Motown soul and
R&B, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Guess Who, Rare Earth, Slade, Rolling Stones, Montrose, Foghat, RUSH, UFO, ad many others.
Joseph Villalpando with Cinco Doce

Joseph Villalpando, an Advanced Music Production student, has been in the studio working with Cinco Doce. Playing together for 9 years, this Austin-based band is
comprised of brothers and cousins. The music is Cumbia Rap, which is a spin off of the orginal Cumbia genre. It consists of a more traditional Colombian rhythm,
as well as some hip hop and reggae type additions
Kyle Lewis with Mark Hendricks

Kyle Lewis, a Beginning Engineering student, has been in the studio with
Mark Hendricks. A singer/songwriter from Austin, TX, Mark creates visual soundscapes weaved from personal lyrics and touching melodies.
